Approach
Photographing weddings is the honor of my life - I don't take this role lightly and put my heart into photographing your wedding authentically, with a balance between attention to detail and letting moments happen naturally. Essentially, I am close enough to capture it all, but leave space for you both to embrace the intimate, wonderful, once in a lifetime moments with your people.
Put simply, my philosophy is to deliver a gallery that allows you to relive the celebration of your marriage and to edit the images in a way that will stand the test of time. Photos that you'll always look back on with a smile, hang on the walls of the home you share together, and can pass down for generations.
I prioritize the fleeting moments as much as your first kiss because they tell the full story. Please continue scrolling through this page to read more about my approach, and to hear about the experience I bring to wedding photography from past clients.

I "specialize" in documentary-style photography - photojournalism. "Specialize" used loosely because I don't necessarily believe in putting a label on something so varied as photographing people and events - because all of the moving parts are distinct and unique!
Documentary photography, to me, means that I'm always on; observing interactions, documenting them with my camera. I don't fabricate your wedding experience, because that would be a disservice to us both. However, I think it would be equally a disservice if I showed up and did not engage, pose, or prompt whatsoever. In portraits (together, with friends, with family - all so important to have), I prompt you and gently pose you to get the glamour shots you deserve. I read the room to catch a vibe of the love you share, your friendships with your wedding party, and how you interact with your family. We'll be goofy or calm, or whatever is true to you. I am a huge fan of details and will ensure that your gallery showcases the thoughtful work you put into curating the atmosphere.
While shooting, I'm thinking a million miles an hour. Dreaming up ideas and moving around to capture a different perspective. All the while, I'm calm and collected in demeanor. I'm not the type of photographer who will jump up and down waving my arms or being the center of attention. I'll make sure you feel beautiful and respected, but without any theatrics on my part. I pride myself in being a source of calmness on your wedding day and creating a fun, but relaxed experience while taking time aside for portraits.

After the party, I'll head home and edit each image by hand with care and attention to detail. I edit true-to-tone, my images don't heavily lean toward warm or cool, unless the natural sunlight says otherwise. I love the vibrancy of naturally occurring colors and the mood of B&W - there is always an intentional mix in each of my galleries.
I am not a heavy re-toucher, (and I do not utilize AI in any steps of my process) but will do my best to remove any distractions or correct a blemish that isn't usually there, at your request. You can see years of my work on this site and on Instagram! Over 6 years, it hasn't changed all too much but art is ever-evolving and I'm committed to being a student of this craft.

"After scrolling through countless photography accounts on Instagram, we stumbled upon Ashley and were struck by how she merged creativity and unique imagery with not being too forced or overly-produced. Upon reaching out to her, she was quick to respond, professional yet very friendly and genuine- even via text. Ashley radiated the sense of the kind of person you would want and trust to be in your “inner-circle” on such an important day. She was informative and flexible with selecting packages and how the whole day would flow, offering suggestions and ideas in a subtle way and adapting to some changes throughout process and day of seamlessly.
We were somewhat anxious about being photographed and posing as we are not typically comfortable with being focus or center-of-attention but I can say I genuinely had a blast and felt at ease all because of Ashley and her approach! The images she captured illustrate the range of emotions and all of the love that were felt on our wedding day and will be cherished not only by us but by others now and in the future. Our gallery is like watching a movie starring our favorite people and gives us all the feels. Wedding days are full of beautiful moments- having them captured and edited by Ashley is something we will be forever grateful for!"
Rosie & Ryan, 2021 Couple
“When we had to reschedule our wedding because of the coronavirus, Ashley did not hesitate to come through for us! We decided to have a teeny tiny ceremony right away, and reschedule our reception as a one-year anniversary celebration. At such a crazy and strange time, it was a relief to know our photographer would remain supportive and truly commit to helping make our wedding day special, whether we had 160 guests or 20.
The photos from our wedding day are gorgeous. Some are actually breathtaking! Ashley captured all of the feelings, the excitement, the closeness, and the love we all felt that day. And we’ve booked her for our part-two when we’ll have our reception next year! She’s so naturally talented, we’d book her again and again.”
Anna & Jaron, 2020 & 2021 Couple

"Words can’t even express how amazing Ashley is. If I could give her an 100000 stars I would. Ashley is one of those photographers that you want by your side through every milestone. She has been taking photos of me since my college graduation and I was lucky enough to have her take our photos for our engagement & wedding.
Ashley is kind, patient, unwavering in her talents, and a genuine person. She makes sure you have space in your timeline to enjoy moments with your partner. Nothing ever feels staged & she captured our day exactly how I envisioned. Little Kodak moments of everyone & everything going on that day. Her style is unique & fresh while also being timeless. I can’t recomened her enough."
